This study explored the immediate effects of a single Immersion Therapy session on the active range of motion (AROM) for people with AROM limitations. Immersion Therapy is a therapeutic approach that uses SCUBA equipment to facilitate underwater experiences for clients with injuries or disabilities.

The research found that all four participants showed an immediate improvement in their active range of motion while in the water. For 75% of the participants, this improvement also translated into a measurable out-of-water improvement immediately following the session. The study concludes that Immersion Therapy appears to be a promising modality for improving active range of motion, but notes that more research is needed to determine if these improvements are statistically or clinically significant.
