What is Immersion Therapy?
Immersion Therapy is an innovative allied health service that expands on traditional hydrotherapy by accessing the underwater environment using scuba equipment. Immersion Therapy reduces barriers and enables people to improve their wellbeing under the guidance of an Allied Health Professional.
How does Immersion Therapy help people?
There are well established benefits of regular physical activity, having good mental health and being able to participate in community. Immersion Therapy provides an environment to achieve these outcomes in a way that is fun and socially engaging.
Sessions are co-designed and tailored to the individual’s goals to help them improve their:
- Physical Health
- Mental Health
- Social Health
Who is delivering Immersion Therapy?
Immersion Therapy is delivered by Accredited Exercise Physiologists that have completed specialist training in addition to their allied health qualifications. An Immersion Therapy Specialist must adhere to all relevant standards and guidelines.

Determined2 provides services within The Parks Recreation and Sports Centre at 46 Cowan St, Angle Park. The venue is equipped with:
- Large carpark with accessible parking options
- Multiple large changerooms and shower facilities
- Ambulant change room, showers and toilets
- Accessible change room, showers and toilets fitted with overhead lifters
- Two pools for lap swimming and therapy
- Fully equipped gym and functional fitness zone
- Large gymnasium with two basketball courts

How is Immersion Therapy funded?
Determined2 is a registered allied health provider and provides services to people funded by:
- Registered NDIS Provider (Capacity Building – Improved Daily Living)
- Return To Work SA (workplace injuries)
- Lifetime Support Authority (motor vehicle injuries)
- My Aged Care
Immersion Therapy is $185 per session. Sessions are 1 hour, with a maximum of 45 minutes in the water. Generally, people attend sessions weekly, but we can also support people who want to attend more or less frequently.

How do I begin Immersion Therapy?
The first step for people interested in participating in Immersion Therapy is a Meet & Greet. This is a one-on-one session out of the water to view the service, how it might work for them and confirm if this is a service they would like to do.

How do I refer someone?
To refer someone to Immersion Therapy, click the button ‘Refer Now’ to complete our referral form. Alternatively, you can provide us with the participants contact information and we will contact them about making the next steps.
